The Drakenstein Municipality is paying homage to South African icon Nelson Mandela with a photographic exhibition in honour of his centenary celebrations. The poignant exhibition of photographs shot by ordinary South Africans was opened in the imposing KWV Cathedral Cellar earlier this week.

Drakenstein Local Tourism Association used the recently held Cape Wine 2018 to showcase the proud heritage and award-winning wines of the Paarl and Wellington regions. With 352 producers attending this year’s event, Cape Wine is considered to be the flagship business showcase of the S0uth African wine industry and is presented by Wines of South Africa every three years.

The Boland town of Paarl will be celebrating spring with the return of the annual Waterblommetjie Festival on Saturday, 1 September. Four local wine farms have joined forces to showcase this indigenous, seasonal delicacy and will offer a fun-filled line-up for the whole family.
