Celebrate the Bastille Day Festival 2011 in Franschhoek on the 16 & 17 July. Locals and visitors to the valley will be celebrating centuries-old French Huguenot heritage at its annual Bastille Festival. Our Website is celebrating the Autumn and Winter Festival Season in Franschhoek this year and we have some awesome prizes from out advertisers and sponsors in our Franschhoek Festivals Competition 2011. just click on our banner below and enter for a chance to win our fantastic prizes.

So don your red, white and blue regalia and come and indulge in a feast of delectable food, the finest wines and all the fun that is on through the festival.

The focal point at the Bastille Festival 2011, as always, will be the Food and Wine Marquee, where Franschhoek's award winning and famous wine estates are offering their finest wines for you to taste and enjoy. Also on offer are mouth watering dishes from Franschhoek's widely acclaimed chefs.

And of course their will be live music in the Bastille Marquee to liven things up. You can view video's of the music and the people in our videos from the 2010 Bastille Festival as well as the 2009 version of the event below. Who knows maybe some of you regulars to the Bastille Festival in Franschhoek will find yourselves in the videos from yesteryear.

And as usual there will be the sporting component at Bastille with the famous Barrel Rolling Competition with competitors from the various Wine Estates, the hustle and bustle of the Boules Competition which anyone can enter, run as always by the SPCA.

Along with all the above there will be the Farmers' Market, Craft Stalls, chidren's activities, and the minstrels parade

Whats more, I will again be wandering around the Bastille Festival with camera in hand, filming all the action, so do remember to visit this page again after the festival to check out the videos of this years festival.

BOOKINGS : Tickets can be purchased through www.webtickets.co.za, but hurry as tickets are limited. Once the marquee is full no further patrons will be admitted.
